Wedding Kiddush Cup, 1997, sterling silver, 9x6x6 inches
I think that a Hebrew inscription is essential to any Kiddush cup, to distinguish it from other sorts of cups. In this Kiddush cup meant for marriage ceremonies, however, I also wanted to evoke a wedding ring by the exactly proportional circularity of the inscription ("the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride"; Jeremiah 7:34).
